Cristina Lousada attended the 28th Annual Global Insolvency and Restructuring Conference, organised by the International Bar Association, in Madrid, from 21 to 23 May.

Under the theme "Restructuring vs Insolvency", the topics discussed included:

• The paradigm shift: from insolvency to restructuring. Experiences on the implementation of EU Directive 2019/1023
• Enforcement of out of court restructuring agreements: direct application or other routes?
• Release of third parties: comparison among various jurisdictions
• Intercreditor agreements: how they are dealt with in the different procedural environments?
• Lights and shadows of the transfer of distressed business
